Project overview
Fixfire already had a system managing their operations and had no intention of replacing it. What they needed was smarter visibility layered on top.
Their existing system held years of live operational data, so any new software had to connect cleanly without touching its integrity or performance. Management had been approximating job visibility and sales reporting through spreadsheets, which was slow and error-prone at scale. SHALIGRAM built BOOSTER, a lightweight Windows application with a SQL Server backend that integrates directly with Fixfire’s existing system while running independently alongside it. The application adds real capability without ever modifying the underlying database or disrupting daily operations.
The existing system continues to run exactly as it did before. BOOSTER simply makes everything around it more intelligent.
Technical challenges
FixFire’s central requirement was integration without disruption, introducing meaningful visibility on top of a system that already functioned reliably. The existing platform held years of live operational data, so any new solution had to connect cleanly without altering it. At the same time, management had been relying on spreadsheets to approximate job visibility and pipeline status, an approach that no longer scaled with the business.
- The existing system held years of live operational data that could not be disrupted.
- Any new software needed to read cleanly from the same database without corrupting it.
- Job visibility by location and priority was being approximated manually through spreadsheets.
- Sales pipeline reporting offered no clear view of stage delays or follow-up gaps.
- Management lacked a real-time way to identify urgent jobs and available engineers quickly.
- The solution needed to run independently while integrating tightly with the live platform.
Our solution
SHALIGRAM delivered BOOSTER, a purpose-built application operating alongside Fixfire’s existing system, introducing intelligence without modifying the underlying database in any respect. Rather than proposing a costly platform replacement, SHALIGRAM designed a lightweight companion system that connects cleanly to the existing backend while reading data without altering it.
